Medicare is Changing…
To take advantage of the Part D prescription Drug coverage, individuals with Medicare must
actively enroll with a CMS contracted Medicare Advantage Plan like Medcore Gold.
The Part D Prescription Drug Plan was developed for people who are eligible for Medicare.
This plan helps protect you from high out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs and helps you afford
the medications you are taking.
We also cover preventive Services to help you stay healthy. A "Welcome
to Medicare" physical exam during the first six months of your Medicare coverage under Part B.
You can have a free preventive physical exam including an EKG, education, and counseling.
December 31, 2006
The last day Medicare-eligible individuals can enroll in any plan for medical or drug coverage
and have it begin on January 1, 2007. After Dec 31, your coverage will begin on the first day
of the following month. This is the last day that people who are eligible for or enrolled in
Medicare can join a Part D Prescription Drug Plan without incurring a penalty. Penalties will
compound monthly until you do join a Part D Prescription Drug Plan.
